So you have registered to participate in Trick or Eat 2011.
Firstly, thank you for your support, this event could not happen without you! Secondly, you are probably wondering what to do now. This year we are asking everyone to raise $12 each. Not only will that help your local food banks and Meal Exchange provide 12 meals, it will earn you an entry into a draw to win WestJet tickets.
Fundraising can be as easy as 1, 2, 3. Here are some tips and ideas to help you get started and to achieve your fundraising goal.
1. Customize your personal donation page. Share your story – tell people why you are involved with Trick or Eat and why supporting your local food banks and Meal Exchange are important to you.
2. Use your social networks. You are probably already using Facebook and Twitter to update your friends and family so why not tell them about Trick or Eat. Social media is a great way to generate awareness and to ask for donations. Make sure to add the link to your personal donation page with your status updates and tweets! And don’t forget to keep people updated on your fundraising progress.
3. Have a party! Invite your friends over for some fun and ask them each to make a $5 or $10 donation.
Fundraising doesn’t have to be difficult – just be yourself, ask those around you (family, friends and teachers) and you might be surprised at the results. The number one reason that people do not donate is that they are not asked.
I hope these tips and ideas help you reach your fundraising goal. Let’s make Trick or Eat 2011 the most successful yet!
Good luck with your fundraising and on winning the Westjet tickets!
PS. Don’t forget to thank your donors. Tell them how they are impacting the community and making a difference.
PPS. For every $12 you raise you will earn additional entries into the draw for WestJet tickets! And the top fundraiser will win a $500 Scholarship from TD!
